MPs unimpressed after Nkoana-Mashabane skips grilling over Mugabe immunity

Members of Parliament (MPs) are demanding that the International Relations and Cooperation Minister be summoned to explain why she granted Grace Mugabe diplomatic immunity.

Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane was due to be in the National Assembly on Thursday, to answer questions along with her Cabinet colleagues in the peace and security cluster.

However, Nkoana-Mashabane sent her deputy minister instead because she’s in Vietnam on official business, reports EWN's Gaye Davis.

There were questions for her in the House. One DA MP wanted to know on what date Grace Mugabe applied for diplomatic immunity and whether there was any legal opinion given before she granted it.
