Western Cape ANCYL denies unanimous support for Dlamini-Zuma

Some members of the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) in the Western Cape African have distanced themselves from claims that the league unanimously supports ANC presidential hopeful Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

Fifteen members of the ANCYL's provincial executive committe (PEC) have spoken out against a deliberate and false impression that they support Dlamini-Zuma.

ANCYL PEC members have accused top leadership of misrepresentation and making false statements in the media.

ANCYL PEC member Luvuyo Mpofu says branches of the ANCYL were supposed to hold a meeting and follow due process before pronouncing their preferred candidate.

Mpofu says the ANCYL PEC in the Western Cape is dysfunctional because its secretary and chairperson refuse to convene meetings.

We are not supposed to do top down approach.

They are running organisations in media. They are not convening meetings where we are going to discuss leadership.

We are not part of this thing and didn't get an opportunity of discussing leadership as young people of Western Cape.
