With Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma headed for Parliament, political analyst Ralph Mathekga says a Cabinet position is in the offing.

He adds that his sources have even gone further.

Ramaphosa might be shown the door and Dlamini-Zuma might become deputy president.

He says Zuma will conduct a "soft reshuffle" and be very careful not to be seen to be dismissing his detractors has was criticised in the last reshuffle.

But with the ANC December conference looming in December, Mathekga says it is time for Zuma to make a decisive move.

As for Dlamini--Zuma, he says she is one of the most underwhelming speakers and her performance at the African Union was less than impressive.

But, he says, she is being pushed for the presidential role, and "President Jacob Zuma has done the groundwork for her."
