SA Post Office will soon know if it will help SASSA with grant payments

Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini briefed media on Friday about a new system for the payment of social grants.

Gia Nicolaides, EWN reporter says Dlamini told journalists that the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) was appointed to conduct a due diligence study into the Post Office which would look at risks, opportunities, financial implications, among other issues.

Dlamini said the study was completed on Thursday while the committee will consider the report and make their decision soon about whether the South African Post Office will come on board as a service provider to South Africa Social Security Agency (SASSA).
