To cloud or not to cloud?

Chief executive officer at Afrovation, Maxwell Ramutla speaks to 702's Phemelo Motene about the concerns most new companies ask themselves about whether to use cloud or not.

Afrovation is an innovations company with IT solutions built for business, government and large enterprises.

Ramutla says those starting new businesses should consider using cloud not only to manage costs, but also to manage risks.

He says a lot of cloud services run in what he calls world-class data centres.

A world-class data centre automatically says to me a lot of security issues have been taken into account. I am talking about issues of anti-hacking and keeping my data safe has been taken into account.

Maxwell Ramutla, Chief executive officer at Afrovation

The amount of money you and I would try to spend trying to save data will never equal the money that one those organisation are going to spend.

Maxwell Ramutla, Chief executive officer at Afrovation

If you are not an IT business focus on your core business and let the IT companies focus on their business which is IT security.

Maxwell Ramutla, Chief executive officer at Afrovation

If you ask me to cloud or not to cloud, the answer is cloud...
