Former KZN ANC chair Senzo Mchunu says the governing party needs to review its electoral system to reflect the kind of leadership needed in the party.
Mchunu says positions, proximity to resources and personal improvement are what drive many ANC members today.
ANC veteran Murphy Morobe agrees that the party's electoral system is corrupted and still "steeped in the past".
Morobe adds that the veterans movement has not given up the idea of holding a consultative conference.
We're working on convening a consultative conference of some form.

The pair discussed the state of the ANC, President Jacob Zuma's leadership and what is needed for the party to self-correct.
