Could a university in Ekurhuleni become a reality?

Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina says a feasibility study is in the pipeline to build the metro's first university.

The municipality has invited a number of professionals and academics to present a plan to Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande.

The delegation of experts will join heads in charting a road map for the establishment during a university symposium to be held on September 21 at the Lakes Conference Centre in Benoni.

Stephen Grootes, standing in for Xolani Gwala, spoke to the Mayor.

We have invited a number of professionals to try and dissect the feasibility study and we are able to present a concrete plan to the minister of higher education.
