ANC Harry Gwala regional elective conference postponed for second time

The African National Congress (ANC) Harry Gwala regional elective conference has once again been postponed.

The conference which was rescheduled for October has now been moved after the December national conference.

Sindiso Magaqa, the former ANC Youth League secretary-general, was the fifth councillor to be killed in the region.

He died in hospital two weeks ago.

Spokesperson for Kwazulu-Natal ANC, Mdumiseni Ntuli says all conferences which have not been set before 30 September will be deferred to focus on the national conference.

As Kwazulu-Natal, we have received the correspondence of the secretary general and understood the rationale behind that view. We believe it is in the best interest of the ANC.

Mdumiseni Ntuli, ANC KZN spokesperson

We are working very hard to ensure that where possible one or two of our conferences must sit before the end of this month but where that becomes unattainable we will not have a problem waiting until after the national conference to convene.

Mdumiseni Ntuli, ANC KZN spokesperson
