Rural drivers are the best drivers - study

Shell has released the findings of its emotion-tracking study on South African drivers.

One of the factors influencing a driver's performance is whether or not the motorist is in a positive mood, says Dr Chris Brauer, the Director of Innovation at Goldsmiths at the University of London.

One was the personality type, the best type of driver is somebody with a high performance mindset, energetic, outgoing and less anxious.

The study reveals that rural drivers are the best.

The worst drivers were suburban drivers. There were some challenges for suburban drivers - facing the daily grinds of the commute - in keeping their performance up and maintaining a positive mindset behind the wheel.
