Head Chef at Africa Meets Europe Cuisine, Nompumelelo Mqwebu, is excited about telling the world about South Africa's food culture, and the role food plays in the country's diverse heritage.

She has written a book titled Through the Eyes of an African Chef in which she shares some of the best traditional recipes South Africa has to offer.

Mqwebu says not enough is being done to showcase Khoisan, Xitsonga, and Xivenda cuisines.

South African citizens - firstly before the visitors - do not know each other's food.

We have got maize, rice, and springbok. There is the tsamma melon: it has so many nutritional benefits, but not only that, it withstands weather difficulties.
