A fist fight broke out in Uganda’s parliamenton Tuesday as legislators debated a motion around presidential age limits and whether to grant long-serving President Yoweri Museveni another term in office.
Local television channel, NTV Uganda released a video in which MPs are seen hurling chairs between two factions.
The fight erupted after the House Speaker allowed a ruling party legislator to introduce a motion to kick-start a process to remove the age cap from Uganda’s constitution.
The Speaker ruled that the age limit motion was allowed and that paves the way for Yoweri Museveni to essentially become the next president.— Crystal Orderson , Africa corespondent
