CapeTalk signal picked up 15 000 kms away... in Finland!

CapeTalk presenter Abongile Nzelenzele couldn't contain his excitement after receiving an e-mail from radio fanatics in Finland who had picked up CapeTalk's AM signal about 15 000 km away.

Nzelenzele spoke to Tapio Kalmi from Team Lux AM Radio Club which consists of four guys who are completely in love with AM radio.

Kalmi explains that he is from Southern Finland. Although they all have different jobs the love of AM radio brings them together daily to listen to AM signals from around the globe.

They pick up numerous AM signals from different countries but a signal like CapeTalk can only be picked up once or twice a month if they are lucky.

We are different guys, one of us is in rescue business and two of us are in IT. What brings us together is the love for AM radio.
