Eskom's CFO Anoj Singh has now been suspended, along with two other executives, following investigations into their conduct in the Trillian payments.
This is according to Eskom's interim board chairperson Zethembe Khoza. Singh was initially placed on special leave at the end of July pending an investigation.
EWN reporter Gia Nicolaides says Khoza revealed other suspended executives names as Prish Govender, head of group capital and Eskom's head of procurement, Edwin Mabelane, who were key role players securing Trillian payments.
When I called Eskom itself I was told they cannot confirm nor deny, they are still looking into the matter.— Gia Nicolaides, EWN reporter
When I called Minister of Public Enterprises, Lynne Brown she said she is aware that Anoj Singh has been suspended, that's what Eskom told her.— Gia Nicolaides, EWN reporter
As it stands there has been a lot of confusion over the suspension of these executives as Eskom has not yet confirmed the suspensions, says Nocolaides.
