Court papers suggest ANC NEC's support for KZN appeal - Brown

The African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee meeting will convene on Friday.

The national leadership is set to reflect on a decision by a faction of Kwazulu -Natal ANC, to appeal the court judgment nullifying the 2015 elective conference.

The provincial leadership defied last week's decision by the national executive committee (NEC) to consult lawyers first before deciding whether to appeal or disband the KZN structure.

Political analyst Karima Brown says court papers suggest that the NEC is supporting the appeal.

The papers indicated that the NEC had already made up its mind but we will have to see today what kind of guidance comes out.

The so called rebels have also decided that they are going to take action, they are going to be asking for an enforcement order which is basically an application to say that he current judgement must stay in place pending the outcome of that appeal.
