The new eye testing machines in testing stations in Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni have been offline for a few days causing queues and leaving motorists frustrated - but are now back up and running according to JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar.
Minnaar says motorists can, however, go anywhere in the country to renew their driving licence cards, should the machines fail to work at any stage.
He says if there is a problem with the network it affects the entire functionality of the machines.
The RTMC introduced these machines because it were struggling to get parts to maintain the old machines.

Minnar says the machines are currently back online and motorists can now go to these traffic stations to get their eyes tested.
