UDF & NPA go head-to-head over Prasa case

United Democratic Front (UDF) veteran Zackie Achmat has slammed the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)’s delayed approach to state capture.

Achmat says the UDF has asked the NPA to freeze Passenger Rail Agency (Prasa)’s assets and prosecute those who have been accused of corruption in Merorail.

Every week someone dies on a train and thousands are crushed by attempts to get onto trains. Problems like safety and overcrowding are because of Metrorail and Prasa’s failure to use resources because they have been stolen.

The NPA’s Luvuyo Mfaku has denied that the case is delayed due to corruption.

The statements from Prasa are still outstanding so prosecutors can’t make a decision.
