Two motorists face culpable homicide charges after JMPD officers killed

Two Johannesburg Metro Police officers were killed after being struck by a car in separate incidents in September.

One of the officials died after being hit by a car when conducting a stop and search operation.

The officer had pulled over a van. When this van left the road, a bus crashed into it, causing the van to run over him.

Spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says there have been arrests and the motorists are facing charges of culpable homicide.

He says it is important for motorists to be alert on local roads.

There were number of officers in that facility directing traffic, how could he go through some of the intersections seeing officers and then still continue driving and going to another intersection killing the officer, that is really reckless.
