Claims of taxi violence connection in latest KZN family murder

Police are investigating the motive behind the killing of three family members shot dead in Folweni in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday.

Three others were wounded when shots were fired at the family's car on Sunday night.

One of the victims is believed to be a taxi boss.

This is the third family killing in the province in recent days.

Eyewitness News (EWN) reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo has more on the story.

One of them was a taxi boss and the other two were drivers. They were on the M5 when another car pulled up and shot at them.

At this stage all indications point to the fact that it might be linked to taxi violence but police are quite reluctant to declare that at this stage.

Police say they have not been able to link the three separate murders.

What police are saying though is that they are investigating and an organised task team has been set up to investigate the recent spate of murders.
