'Back to basics' to retain loyal supporters, says new DA WC leader

Newly elected Western Cape DA leader Bonginkosi Madikizela says the party will have to prove to its loyal supporters in the region that they are not being taken for granted.

It's going to be important for us to go back to basics and make sure that they journey with us on our quest to grow to new constituencies.

Bonginkosi Madikizela, Newly elected Western Cape DA leader

Madikizela has been acting in this position since January, after Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille’s resigned.

He also has stressed the party must rid itself of factionalism.

He was elected to the party's top post in the Cape after the DA’s provincial leadership congress held over the weekend.
