Mall@55 security breaches a major concern for tenants
Tenants at the new Centurion shopping centre, Mall@55 are concerned with a number of armed robberies which have occurred at the centre.
They say the landlord had promised to increase security but nothing has been done.
There was another break-in at a shop in the centre on Wednesday night, with robbers gaining access through the ceiling.
Director of security company at Pro-active South Africa, Ryno Schutte recommends that the landlord do a proper risk assessment of the shopping centre and implement security measures.
Access control at the entrance of the premises should be the first thing considered, he says.
Secondly, the need to be in conjunction with Saps, law enforcement, Community Policing Forum and neighbourhood watches and link up with armed response who might spot criminals.Ryno Schutte, Director of security company Pro-active South Africa
