Mass grave for Somalia's bomb attack victims

More than 100 unidentified people burned beyond recognition have been buried in a mass grave in Somali's capital Mogadishu.

The Somali government has no proper morgue because of the Islamic culture. The government does not have the capacity to conduct forensic tests to identify the victims.

EWN Africa Correspondent, Crystal Orderson says Somalia has never experienced the scale of brutality ever before. The attack has been described as Somali's 911.

Family members were simply not able to identify their loved ones and in order to make more space in hospitals, they had to dig up mass graves and have mass burials.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has been adamant that terror group Al-Shabaab is responsible but Orderson says no one has claimed responsibility yet.

This is a new tactic because they are usually the first to come out and say they are responsible.
