IRB tackles concussion

The International Rugby Board produces regular updates to protect players at all levels from the potential harm that can come from playing the game.

A recent focus is on concussions and the need for both players and those off the field to know the symptoms and act to remove players from the field as well as ensure they don't return too soon.

Education sits at the center of our mission to change the culture in Rugby and the IRB's message to Rugby players at all levels is simple - concussion is serious and players, coaches, medics and parents have a duty to recognise the symptoms of concussion and permanently remove any player displaying them. If in doubt, sit them out.
