Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest competing for survival against the Hulk (former ally and fellow Avenger). In a race against time, Thor must prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
City Press movie writer Gayle Edmunds says that Thor's character is a breath of fresh air. She loved the movie as it showed a nice progression of Thor loosing his hair and potentially loosing his home as well.
I thought it was a very funny one. I thought it had a lot of humor in it and I do rather think that Cate Blanchett is possibly the most fantastic villain of them all.— Gayle Edmunds, Film Festival Director
New Zealand director Taika Waititi was responsible for the comic book and lighter feel approach to the movie.
It does have that comic book feel. It’s fun, its poppy. It’s got lots of colour and great characters.— Gayle Edmunds, Film Festival Director
