Portfolio Committee chair shocked by latest testimony in Eskom inquiry

Former Trillian Financial Advisory Chief Executive Mosilo Mothepu told Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises on Tuesdaty that Trillian Capital Partners CEO Eric Wood knew Nhlanhla Nene would be fired as Finance Minister at least 6 weeks before this happened.

She told the Portfolio Committee that is conducting an inquiry into state capture in the country's state owned entities, that Wood made lots of money from his knowledge that Nene would be fired as Finance Minister.

Portfolio Committee Chairperson Zukiswa Rantho said Tuesday's testimony shows "serious" abuse of state resources.

Stephen Grootes spoke to Rantho on the Breakfast Show.

Seemingly there is a lot that has happened that we do not know.

Zukiswa Rantho, Portfolio Committee Chairperson

We have been suspecting that there is a lot of money that has been misappropriated or misused in the public enterprises SOE's and what we got yesterday was expected. There is a lot of corruption that is going on.
