Popular chat app WhatsApp is now operating again after a brief global outage.
The instant messaging service apparently crashed due to a server that went down, affecting hundreds of thousands of users across the globe, including the US, UK, India and South Africa.
Earlier, users reported that they weren't able to send or receive messages as the service displayed a delay in connecting.
Some took to rival app Twitter to vent their frustrations and poke fun.
