[LISTEN] Opinion: Lynne Brown come back to earth!

Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has accused the media of feeding into a narrative that State-Owned Companies are 'a drain on the fiscus' and ignored what she says is Transnet's improved operational performance.

Speaking at the launch of the Transnet Matlafatšo Centre at Wits University on Monday, Brown said Transnet released a set of financial results for the 6 month period ending in September showing a 13.8% increase in revenue earnings.

She said: "Unprecedented resources have been poured into a campaign, fueled by political and business contestation that feeds into the public narrative that State-Owned Companies are shot through with corruption."

Responding to the statement, Stephen Grootes had this to say:

In Lynne Brow's world, she has played no part in this. In Lynne Brown's world she is responsible for nothing and simply a victim of a narrative.

But Lynne Brown is not a victim, she has created a situation in which corruption has flourished. She is a corruption enabler. Lynne Brown, come back to earth.
