This Facebook chat will answer all your Alzheimer’s and dementia questions

Dementia and Alzheimer’s are incredibly difficult disorders to deal with - for both patients and caregivers. But a free Facebook chat this Friday will offer help and support to those taking care of those suffering from these conditions.

“When a person is living with dementia or Alzheimer’s, a caregiver is often needed - a difficult task that can become overwhelming at times. Each day can bring new challenges as a patient’s levels of ability deteriorate. Caregivers themselves are at increased risk of depression, particularly if they don’t receive sufficient support.”

the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG)

Because of this, Sadag is offering support through two Q&A sessions on 24 November.

The first session will be between 1pm and 2pm, with another between 7pm and 8pm.

If you have a patient or loved one who suffers from Dementia or Alzheimer’s, feel free to join in on the #FacebookFriday Q&A. It is both free and useful.

To join, simply go to Sadag’s Facebook page during the Q&A sessions. You will be able to ask your question in the chat post’s comments or inbox Sadag directly. The questions will then be answered by the host in the comment thread.

Know someone who would benefit from the chat? Share this post with them.

If you are suffering from depression or anxiety, you can contact SADAG for free telephonic counselling and information on 0800 70 8090.

The hotline is open seven days a week from 8 am to 8 pm.
