Ramaphosa gets the presidential nod from W Cape ANC

Weekend news from The Sunday Times and the City Press weekend news reported that front-runners Cyril Ramaphosa and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma have the required support to win the ANC presidency at the December elective conference.

Ramaphosa and Dlamini-Zuma appear to be neck and neck with only 20 days left to the conference, say pundits.

EWN reporter Clement Manyathela says both camps have been claiming that they have over 2 500 votes, according to the City Press and Sunday Times.

Now the focus is going to move to the Province's General Council So far we have the Western Cape and the Northern Cape that have nominated Cyril Ramaphosa. We are just waiting for some of the bigger provinces.

Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter

According to Manyathela, the Western Cape has about 182 delegates and Northern Cape has about 197 delegates. He says Mpumalanga seems to be the province with the bigger number of delegates, having about 736 delefates that will be attending the conference.
