The Steve Biko Academic Hospital says it has terminated its contract with security company Born To Protect, following protests by guards.
The security guards from Born To Protect demonstrated at the Pretoria hospital on Sunday night into Monday morning, blocking the entrance with burning tires and barbed wire.
It’s understood the group is unhappy with the late payment of salaries.
The hospital's acting CEO Mathabo Mathebula says a new security company has been appointed.
