Bill to be passed granting fathers 10 days paternity leave

Kopano Ratele has written extensively on the role of fathers and the relationship they have with their children.

The bill that is going to be passed sometime in March next year will benefit the relationship newborns have with their fathers says Ratele.

The difference between four months maternity leave and three days paternity leave is absurd.

Kopano Ratele, author and researcher

We’re moving forward because ten days paternity leave, is better than three days but not as good as 4 months says Ratele. He adds that the first few days of human life is when a child imprints.

There’s one word here, the word is attachment. You don’t only see it in humans, you see with animals.

Kopano Ratele, author and researcher

Children needs this attachment, studies have shown that the first 1000 days are important says Ratele. He adds that bonding is critical, and it’s good many parties put there votes behind this.
