Warning: SMS saying Sassa will be closed is a scam

Paseka Letsatsi, Head of Communications at South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), says that they are aware of SMSs that appear to come from their organisation, but are in fact scams.

Letsatsi says the latest SMS scam states that Sassa will be closed from 12 December, and beneficiaries must go to the banks and offices to get their money, or else they won't be paid until February 2018.

We want to put on record as Sassa that there is no such a thing.
