"Naspers must answer just like the Guptas " - Yunus Carrim

After Napers Chair Koos Bekker denied that any shady negations occurred between MultiChoice the SABC and ANN7, Former Communications Minister Yunus Carrim stated that it's bizarre to suggest that Bekker was hands-off in the situation.

Carrim says that that Naspers Bekker, has a meeting him to give up an encryption policy that belongs to the ANC 2012 conference and the government since 2008.

When it comes to ANN7, Carrim says he has his own views, but says what was leaked between MultiChoice and SABC was already known in the ministry. He adds that as a former minster, he felt it was not his place to comment until now, because of extraordinary circumstances.

Naspers is being so disingenuous to put it mildly, and so is MultiChoice. It's almost boarding on the absurd. So it is that I have to put the facts before the public and they must decides for themselves.

One of the allegations is that Naspers and MultiChoice knew that Carrim was going to be removed. Carrim says he is unsure if this is true, but he does know that Naspers are not unconnected to the allegations against MultiChoice.

It's not for Napers and MultiChoive to investigate themselves. Koos Bekker is directly involved. He waged a vigorous campaign to oppose encryption.

Parliament, Competition Comission and other agencies must actually peruse this. Naspers must answer just the ways the Guptas are being asked to answer.
