Words you will hear: KwaAussie

Australians have coined a new-ish term that combines locals and those who originate from New Zealand (nicknamed Kiwis) to make the word KwaAussie.

KwaAussie is Australia's word of 2017.

It's a blend of Kiwi and Aussie, which came to prominence on social media during the constitutional crisis that engulfed several MPs and senators who discovered they had dual citizenship.

This lead to resignations there because according to their constitution, MPs are not allowed to have dual citizenship.
