Investigative journalists Jacques Pauw and Pieter-Louis Myburgh have been summoned to a meeting with police.
According to News24, cluster detective coordinator of Ethekwini Outer North, Colonel 'R Govender' stated that the pair had been uncooperative.
But News24 editor Adriaan Basson says they have agreed to attend the meeting in the presence of their legal representatives.
He says they are uncertain what the charges are but suspect it may be related to their books on alleged corrupt relationships involving President Jacob Zuma.
We have appointed an attorney who has been in contact with Colonel Govender who is is been trying to get information about the status of the investigation, what the complaints are, the charges and who the complainant is.— Adriaan Basson, News 24 editor
None of this is forthcoming, at the moment all we know is that he is insisting to see them and that they are suspects in his investigation.— Adriaan Basson, News 24 editor
This is quite bizarre, when we spoke to the national police office, they didn't even know about the case, so it looks like he is almost trying to do it off the books .— Adriaan Basson, News 24 editor
