The South African Communist Party (SACP) says it congratulates the ANC's new top six leadership and accepts the outcome.

SACP's Solly Mapaila says the communist party will work with the ANC's new top leadership, despite a sense of stagnation among the elected candidates.

Mapaila says the SACP will not be silent if they have any concerns with ANC secretary general Ace Magashule's conduct.

Court have found that Magashule was elected fraudulently in the ANC Free State twice in five years and he has also been linked to the Guptas.

The SACP has been calling for the ANC to renew itself.

Mapaila says Magashule will have to show that he is committed to the ANC principles and programme in light of his tainted history.

Mapaila says Ramaphosa will have to cleanse the leadership of the party and work towards the affirmation of policy decisions taken at the conference.

He says the top six must be accountable, must fight corruption and corruption, and mobilise for a reconfigured tripartite alliance.

There will no issue that we will not take up. We'll raise all the issues. There will be no holds barred.

Solly Mapaila, Second deputy General-Secretary of the SACP

Comrade Ace Magashule doesn't elect himself. Conference has decided and we can't work against conference decisions.

Solly Mapaila, Second deputy General-Secretary of the SACP

He [Magashule] is in a different platform. He's in national leadership. It's not a space for shenanigans. It's a space for absolute good conduct.

If he [Magashule] misbehaves, we'll send a clear message as the SACP. It's not a threat.

Solly Mapaila, Second deputy General-Secretary of the SACP

We are unhappy that there has been link between him[Magashule], his son and the Guptas. It's quite clear that he's been part of the faction.

Solly Mapaila, Second deputy General-Secretary of the SACP

We expect change of heart in the manner that he [Magashule] will conduct national politics.
