LISTEN: Frank Chikane's warning to the new ANC leadership

The position of the veterans and stalwarts was very simple. Elect the leaders who are going to change the trajectory of the ANC and move away from self interest, state capture, corruption and begin to serve the people.

Rev. Frank Chikane, leader of the ANC stalwarts

Our real measurement of the leadership that's been elected, is whether they can go through the eye of the needle and become real leaders of the ANC, turn around the organisation because the organisation has been hurting for a number of years.

Rev. Frank Chikane, leader of the ANC stalwarts

He says if they don't serve the people in the manner they should, they should forget about being elected in 2019.

Chikane says they are also hoping that National Executive Committee to be elected on Tuesday will be able to make the radical decisions and transformation possible.

Let's wait and see what the NEC would like and see how they would behave. There is nothing impossible under the sun if you are ready to change radically and be what the people expect you to be.

Rev. Frank Chikane, leader of the ANC stalwarts

If the ANC doesn't change, then of course it is going to die a natural death and that's the choice the members would have to make.
