The ANC has gone from potentially having a woman president to only having one woman in the top six. Political analyst Sithembile Mbete says this is a huge step backward for the party, particularity shocking as there are more woman delegates that voted.
Mbete says that as a country we cannot rely on the ANC Woman's League to make progress on female representation in the party.

Mbete says that what is needed is for the young women in the party to regroup and assert themselves in the party.
