Magashule’s position under threat as steering comm discusses missing 68 votes

Political journalist at News24, Tshidi Madia says that the North West ANC Provincial Chairperson Supra Mahumapelo is putting forward a threat.

He’s seeking a political solution, one that doesn’t embarrass the ANC, one that doesn’t bring the organisation into disrepute, and the way for doing that for him is to threaten that they will push for a revote.

Madia says that the steering committee is still meeting but people will be going to commissions. She adds that the issue is not over yet as the matter must go to plenary.

If the issue makes its way to plenary - things could possibly end up going south, she says.

For a lot of people in support for Ace Magashule, that’s a victory, and that victory becomes under threat.

There are lawyers who have been briefed that if this doesn’t go their way, then it may end up in court, says Madia, adding that the ANC has been trying to prevent being implicated in another court battle.
