Former African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee member Barbara Hogan says Cyril Ramaphosa's appointment as the party's president is a step forward.
Ramaphosa won the election by 2 440 votes on Monday.

Responding to the Women's League's comments over the newly elected top six, Hogan says it is laughable.
Did they vote for Lindiwe Sisulu? No. They factionalised themselves. They allowed themselves to be bought into a particular faction of the ANC that is extremely patriarchal.— Barbara Hogan, former ANC NEC member
