SAB general manager John Stenslunde says approximately 4 000 people visit the free water facility every week.
Stenslunde explains that security personnel have been tasked with regulating the queues at the spring.
He adds that extra parking bays have been created to accommodate the increased number or residents
Officials have also created two separate queues based on the amount of water residents want to collect.
25 litres per person is the limit and security has been monitoring the abuse of water by commercial bodies, Stenslunde says.
The spring is also closed from 11pm unil 5am.
