Some businesses do well.
Some do well, and good.
For the past few weeks on The Money Show, Bruce Whitfield interviewed people from socially aware businesses – big or small - that makes a difference, even if it means sacrificing some profit.
This week he interviewed Ruda Landman, former Carte Blanche anchor and Founder at Readers Unite.
Landman compiled a booklet called “GRAD” to help tertiary students achieve success (it even has a two-page guide to feeding yourself on a tiny budget!).
It’s distributed freely at 23 campuses across South Africa.
Cold hard cash from Capitec Bank and endless hours of pro bono work from Van Schaik Publishers also made it happen.
