The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) has urged the pubic to be safety conscious near both inland and coastal waters.
The NSRI's Craig Lambinon emphasises that water safety applies to all water, including rivers, dams, lakes, lagoons and swimming pools.
Lambinon stresses that children should have responsible adult supervision around any water.
The institute has reported a number of indents this week.
A woman in her thirties has drown in at Naval Island Beach in the Port of Richards Bay.
In the same instance, a 14-year old girl was also transported to hospital and is in a critical condition after being rescued.
In Tsitsikamma, the search continues for a fisherman who went missing off of a trucker fishing boat.
