Oprah Winfrey’s electrifying speech sparks questions of her presidency bid

Talk show host, actress, and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey gave a moving speech after receiving the Cecil B. de Mille Award.

As the first black female recipient of the award, Winfrey gave a speech that grabbed the attention of the world last night.

Winfrey attacked sexual predators, spoke of the Me2 campaign and remembered civil rights heroes in her speech - which sparked some speculation of a presidential run.

Nadia Neophytou, EWN correspondent in the US touched base on Winfrey’s speech and talked about her role as a presidential hopeful in 2020.

Neophytou says that Oprah Winfrey’s speech was absolutely electric. She adds that her speech reverberated around the world and injected energy into the Golden Globes.

The Golden Globe is normally a party atmosphere and it’s known for its casual and jovial vibe says Neophytou.

This year has had quite a heavy tone with the whole Me2 and TimesUp campaigns.
