DA Metro exec wants De Lille axed as CT mayor

The DA's Cape metro executive has recommended that DA caucus removes Patricia de Lille as Cape Town Mayor.

DA's Cape metro regional chairman Grant Twigg says De Lille has lost the confidence of the Metro executive.

They've lost confidence in Patricia de Lille and want structures to act in removing her from her job.

Twigg says that De Lille is going against the party's caucus by challenging the findings of the independent report by law firm Bowman Gilfillan, implicating the mayor in a corruption cover-up.

A recommendation has now been forwarded to the provincial leadership and the DA’s federal executive that she be removed, reports EWN's Lindsay Dentlinger.

Meanwhile, De Lille says that she will use all the means at her disposal to defend her position.
