Poor sleep can cause weight gain, says expert
Both the quality and quantity of sleep are important elements in improved health, says sleep specialist Dr Irshaad Ebrahim.
Some people may get enough hours of sleep, but still wake up tired, lethargic, anxious, irritable and unable to concentrate.
He says fragmented sleep or sleep deprivation can lead to weight gain and other health complications.
Poor quality sleep is often a result of disrupted sleep cycles, Dr Ebrahim explains.
