Issues of recycling and sustainability take centre stage at Davos WEF

Recycling was one of the topics discussed at this year's World Economic Forum currently underway in Davos, Switzerland.

CEO of Circle Economy, Harald Friedl says 'only 9% of the world is circular', meaning only 9% of the world's resources, after usage, is recycled and entered back into the system.

Recycling is a difficult debate so you can't take a uniform view, it is very different in all countries.

Harald Friedl, CEO of Circle Economy

It is very much up to the leadership of the country. Like in Austria, they are the world's masters in recycling and that is very good.

This is also about own awareness. The people in the boardroom are starting to realise that the planet they live in they have to leave it in a better state they found it in, and this makes it a driver that they are hopeful for.
