The Human Library

Human Library is a concept created by Ronni Abergel, Dany Abergel, Christoffer Erichsen and Asma Mouna in 2000 and it is now operational on five continents. It is a library of human beings, individuals, that each represent a group in the community that are somehow exposed to stigma, prejudice and/or discrimination.

Event attendees can loan books with the following titles:

• Homeless • Tantra teacher & Witch • Ex-Gangster • Substance Abuse • Gay • HIV+ • Drag Queen and Son of a Preacher • Cross-Cultural Adoption • Rape Survivor • Domestic Violence • Organ Donor • Pastor

The Human Library Lead SA event will take place on Saturday, January 27, from 11am to 3pm at the Primedia Broadcasting offices in Cape Town

Koos Kombuis

Koos Kombuis is considered one of the best lyricists in South African music. One of his most popular hits is “Lisa se Klavier”, which has been covered by Laurika Rauch and The Parlotones and translated into Dutch, Portuguese and English. He has collaborated with the Belgian artist Stef Bos on two albums and Stef has recorded Koos’ song “Onder in My Whiskeyglas”.
