‘It’s a trip around the world with 5 different braais’ – Anna Trapido

Author of Eat-Ting Anna Trapido chats to Phemelo about the Wicked Food Earth in Hekpoort, and what to expect with their 5-course meal.

Trapido says that the thing about urban life in Gauteng, is that it can be tiring and overwhelming. She adds that sometimes you want a moment to get in touch with your primal state in an open environment.

What’s lovely about Gauteng is that it’s the birth place of controlling fire.

Trapido says that at Wicked Food Earth in Hekpoort, you can take a step back from the bustle of the city, and enjoy a 5-course lunch out in the open veld.

Each course is paired with a craft beer and only costs R290 per person says Trapido. She adds that the outing gives you a chance to explore the different ways people use fire to cook, from classic barbeques in the American South, to the open fire techniques they have in Argentina.
