EWN's Barry Bateman reports that the NPA is refuting a Sunday Times article citing what it claims is an NPA indictment on charges possibly being brought against senior politicians and the Guptas.
It does appear that the indictment being referred to by the Sunday Times, is in fact, an indictment that was drafted by the Democratic Alliance when Mmusi Maimane delivered it to the Hawks headquarters in August last year in Silverton in Pretoria.— Barry Bateman, EWN senior reporter
It now appears that this DA indictment, related to the Vrede Dairy Farm project, has been erroneously used to claim that the NPA had prepared a case against Zwane, three of the Guptas brothers and others for their roles in the dairy farm scheme reports Bateman.
It turns out that this appears to be the document that is being relied on to say the NPA has an indictment.— Barry Bateman, EWN senior reporter
The NPA’s Luvuyo Mfaku says prosecutors have not yet drafted an indictment because several matters are still outstanding.
