[WATCH Bongani Bingwa] Politicians personify low standards and are nonsensical

Allegations of 'possible corruption' by state officials have become the norm in South Africa, but little discussion is being had on whether the individuals implicated are capable of doing their jobs, says Breakfast show host Bongani Bingwa.

Playing back a number of 'senseless' comments made by minister's, Bingwa says South Africans have become used to a cesspool of diminished expectations, that politicians have come to personify low standards.

It was former vice chancellor Jonathan Jansen who said that South Africans have become so used to swimming in a cesspool of low standards, a cesspool of diminished expectations, that low standards had become the new normal.
